Amusée Virtual Wine Classes keep on coming!

After starting our series of virtual classes in March of 2020, Sommelier Leslee Miller has taught over 100+ virtual classes to folks nationwide — bringing the ‘language’ of wine to your couches, kitchen counters, living room floors and most importantly, to your homes.

The classes have been created to bring us all together, glass of wine in hand, in a comfortable ‘snob free’ space to talk about wine. Your favorite somm, Leslee Miller, owner of Amusée, Sip Better + Cépage is back at it with more classes that will not only introduce you to new wines, grapes, regions + styles — but introduce you to the fundamentals of wine verbiage + understanding your own palate.

Choked full of delicious wine, amazing attendees + open for all levels of wine enthusiasts.  Thanks to the hundreds of attendee testimonials + thank yous, Amusée’s virtual wine classes have been touted as THE most affordable + approachable wine classes in the country!

Try them out for yourself + invite some friends along the way!

Here’s how it works!

  • Each virtual wine class is $10 each — Each person attending must purchase a separate ticket.  Sorry, I have to ask that each person purchases a ticket now after groups of 10-12 were joining under one ticket for $10.  (Look at it this way — if you were headed to any one of Leslee’s class in person, you would be paying between $50-$70 per person to attend.  $20 a couple sounds pretty good, right?).
  • Veteran Sommelier Leslee Miller, owner of Amusée Sip Better, will be joining you LIVE from ZOOM) with each class from 7-8pm CST
  • Once you purchase your ticket via Eventbrite, we’ll send you an invite for our online wine class straight from ZOOM. (The directions for tuning in will be sent in the link. Sorry no refunds.)
  • You will have to create an account with Zoom + log in for each class.
  • We encourage you to promote + share our classes if you love them!  We do ask that you buy your own wine class links, pls do not share your link – it is yours alone.
  • An opportunity for purchasing the wines ahead of time is listed below.  Please see deadlines for ordering.
  • Note:  You DO NOT have to purchase the wines in order to attend.  Simply coming to class + listening along is half the fun!
  • Tune in at 7pm CST, grab your fave libation (preferably vino), sip, learn about the topics we’ll be covering, chime in, socialize with your mates + meet other like-minded peeps that love wine, too — all without leaving your own couch!

Here is our upcoming class schedule!

March 26th @ 7pm — Demystifying the new GREEN language of wine.  As we continue to see more Hollywood stars like Cameron Diaz (now with her own wine) + Halle Berry talking more about ‘good for you’ wines while using words like ‘sugar free, clean, gluten free, vegan friendly + natural’ — have you actually found yourself lost amongst this new language of wine?

With loads of talk around these ‘markety’ words being used from new products to new wine clubs and online wine marketing platforms — you have to be asking yourself, what portion of this is fake wine news + maybe what it is that you actually need to know yourself about deciphering what wines are actually good for you and how you might be asking for them via retail to restaurant.  Are we right?

In this class, Leslee teaches you what you really need to know about finding ‘healthy’ wine and how you might arm yourself with the right questions to ask when buying wine. Don’t get caught up or confused by these marking terms + never overpay for good wine again as you learn the ropes to finding the best wines and the right wines for your healthy lifestyle in our new virtual GREEN wine class!

The class will feature: Weingut Heinrich ‘Naked White’, Puzelat-Bonhomme ‘Le TelQuel’ + Hedges Family Estate ‘CMS Red’  Wines are listed within this section for purchase.

Note: Wines for this class must be purchased no later than March 14th in order to be shipped on time for the class, or March 21st (if you prefer to set your purchase to PICK UP + pick the wines up at our retail partner’s store, the week of the tasting).  Buy the wines HERE!

April 23rd @ 7pm — Amusée hosts Laurent Drouhin of Maison Joseph Drouhin  Famed for creating some of the world’s finest Burgundian wines, this class is truly for someone looking to deepen their love affair with Pinot Noir + Chardonnay.

No stranger to the Willamette Valley herself, Sommelier Leslee Miller, welcomes special guest Laurent Drouhin of the Drouhin Family for a deep dive of Burgundy vs. Oregon tasting from the family’s Oregon + Burgundian (FR) estates.

Laurent’s engaging style leads us through not only the stylistic differences of the regions but details the wines’ terroir, winemaking, and pairing nuances giving  us a complete snapshot as to what makes each region so unique for each grape.

This is truly a treat as we welcome Mr. Drouhin as the family has some of the longest history making wines of each region.  Not only will this class engage your palate but every sense of your wine enthusiast brain from geology to history.  Certainly, one for the books — we hope you will join us!

The class will feature: Maison Joseph Drouhin ‘Pouilly-Vinzelles’, Maison Joseph Drouhin ‘Santenay’ Pinot Noir, Roserock Drouhin (Oregon) Chardonnay + Domaine Drouhin Oregon Pinot Noir.   Wines are listed within this section for purchase.

May 7th @ 7pm –Vertical Endeavors — A Virtual Vertical Burgundian Wine Experience

What is a vertical tasting you ask? (see Decanter’s very precise definition)

A vertical tasting compares a number of wines from a single estate or producer, in which all the wines are produced under the same name or label but come from different years.

A ‘vertical’ allows tasters to see the evolution of a specific wine over time, as well as better understand the effect of growing conditions in different vintages, plus any changes to techniques in the winery and – in the case of blends – assemblage percentages.

If you’ve never been a part of a vertical adventure, this is your chance!  Join Sommelier Leslee Miller as we explore the wines of exciting Burgundian French producer, David Duband.  One of the region’s most exciting winemakers + newer landholders of properties from the famed appellation of Cotes de Nuits, Burgundy we take a look at three back-to-back vintages from David’s Bourgogne Hautes Côtes de Nuits ‘Louis Auguste’ collection — the 2015, 2016 + 2017.

A look at how seasonal differences, bottle age + more can affect the overall smell, taste  + mouthfeel of a wine.  If you’ve not had the opportunity to dive deep amongst one of the world’s most exquisite appellations  for growing Pinot Noir, this is your chance — to boot, at an extremely affordable price point for this region!  We do not often have the luxury of tasting outstanding Burgundian Pinot, esp at a vertical set for this price.

A class most wine nerds would find super exciting and for those just starting out in wine, a very cool look at Pinot Noir from its famed birthplace, Burgundy.  A super unique snapshot as to exploring the grape + the region a bit deeper.

The class will feature: 2015, 2016 and 2017 David Duband Hautes-Côtes de Nuits “Louis Auguste” Pinot Noir. Wines are listed within this section for purchase.  Again, as we’ve noted many times over for our classes — the wines are not needed for attending this class.  Of course, the information provided clicks more precisely with the wines in front of you, yet just listening, grabbing your own glass of wine + simply following along is also a great deal of fun.

We hope you’ll join us  for this class!

Note: Wines for this class must be purchased no later than April 25th in order to be shipped on time for the class, or May 2nd (if you prefer to set your purchase to PICK UP + pick the wines up at our retail partner’s store, the week of the tasting).  Buy the wines HERE!
